As the college bowl season winds down today, I get a well-meaning laugh at all the post-game interviews where earnest quarterbacks and receivers piously proclaim that their team’s victory was because of god. “All praise to Jesus!” “God is good!” “It all starts with Him!”
What about losing teams, especially a Christian school like Liberty University that just got the hell beaten out of it by the godless Oregon Ducks? Did god forsake Liberty just because of their dreadful defense?
Next to college football and Major League Baseball, I think my favorite sport is religion. Only as a spectator, of course.
